Pashanbhed

Pashanbhed has been found beneficial in the removal of kidney and urinary tract stones due to its strong antilithic property. Consuming Pashanbhed powder, according to Ayurveda, increases urine production and aids in the removal of stones. The antilithic property of pashanbhed helps reduce inflammation in the kidney vessels thereby improving the kidney function.

Pashanbhed also helps in reducing fever due to its antipyretic property and give relief from cough due to its antitussive properties. Its antioxidant and antiulcer properties may also aid in the treatment of ulcers.

Giloy

Giloy is a climber and its leaves are extensively used in Ayurvedic treatment. Giloy helps to treat inflammation of the joints through it’s action of reducing the levels of uric acid in the body.

Giloy is very effective in improving body immunity levels which triggers a damage repair mechanism in the body which in turn helps improve kidney function as well as delays the onset or progression of kidney disease.

Punarnava’s

Punarnava’s list of benefits and history of use is extensive, stretching back  thousands of years and throughout many cultures and regions. It is particularly revered for its unique ability to gently purge the body of excess liquids and stagnation, which benefits many areas of the body, including the urinary system and joints. Punarnava helps to improve digestion and increase urine production due to which kidneys can easily pass out uric acid from the body and help reduce the symptoms of gout. Punernava boosts the capability of the kidneys to flush out harmful toxins from the body.

Other Benefits of Punarnava include digestion and cleansing. Thanks to its heating qualities, punarnava enkindles agni (digestive fire) and can help stimulate and rejuvenate a weak digestive system. Also known as Gokshura is Sita (cold) in potency and Madhura (sweet) in taste. It has the Balya (strength provider) property beneficial in providing strength to the body. Gokshura balances Tridosha (Vata-Pitta-Kapha). It is also used to manage urinary disorders due to its Mutral (diuretic) property.

It is also extensively used to manage sexual disorders specially erectile dysfunction as it is a natural aphrodisiac. Saponins present in Gokshura helps in managing erectile dysfunction as it strengthens the penile tissue and enhances penile erection.

It has antioxidant properties which may help to reduce blood sugar levels, reduce blood pressure, reduce inflammation, treat kidney stones, and provide pain relief. Gokshura reduces uric acid levels due to its Mutral (diuretic) property, which increases urine output and aids in the removal of toxins from the body.

Varuna

Varuna is a famous diuretic Ayurvedic herb. It is also a good blood purifier that helps to maintain homeostasis (healthy and a stable state of a living being).
It is also found to be useful in case of gout due to its anti-inflammatory property as it reduces joint pain and inflammation. Varuna helps to break renal or kidney stone or calculi and reduce the size of the stone. This is because of its Asmaribhedan (penetration) property. Varun also helps to expel it out it because of its Mutral (diuretic) nature.

Dhania

Coriandrum Sativum or coriander has a prominent place in Ayurveda. It is an annual herb, indicated for a number of medical properties in traditional medicine. Volatile components, flavonoids, and isocoumarins are the main constituents of C. sativum.

Kutki

KUTKI: Known by the botanical name Picorrhiza kurroa, Kutki or Katuka is a traditional hepatoprotective herb that has immense healing properties. Katuka is a traditional herb used in various medicines. Since it is cooling, cleansing, and anti-bacterial by nature.  It can also be used as a main herbal component for any weight loss or diet as this bitter agent is great for increasing the digestive fire, promoting the healthy elimination of excess fat and cholesterol, and boosting overall metabolism.

Jawakhar

Jawakhar is basically Impure Carbonate of Potash, Pearl Ash in herb form. Sanskrit Name is Yavakshara. Jawakhar is an Ayurvedic medicine used for urinary diseases, abdominal pain and bloating. It is alterative, antacid, diuretic, laxative, resolvent and stomachic. Useful in urinary diseases, uric acid diathesis leading to gout and rheumatism, uterine irritability, piles, colic, cardialgia and dyspepsia. It is also useful in oedema. Jawakhar is also beneficial to relax swelling and cough, keeping urination, and removing squats.

Vasaka

Vasaka enhances the respiratory system. It has manifold curative properties and is an ultimate remedial measure for a lot of health anomalies such as breathing trouble, cough, cold, nasal congestion, sore throat, asthma, bronchitis, other upper respiratory tract infections, bleeding disorders, etc.

Vasaka exemplifies two distinct tastes mainly Tikta (i.e. bitter) and Kashaya (i.e. astringent) Rasa. It has Laghu (i.e. light) and Rukhsha Guna (i.e. dry quality) and Shita Virya (i.e. cold potency). It characterizes Katu Vipaka (i.e. pungent taste after digestion) and mainly portrays rejuvenating property. The host of bioactive components in Vasaka helps to pacify the Pitta (i.e. fire and air) and Kapha (i.e. earth and water) doshas and effectively removes the AMA doshas from the body.

Vasaka is a powerful digestive stimulant. The carminative and appetite-stimulant properties of the herb help in breaking down food particles in the stomach and intestine, promote the secretion of the digestive juices and thereby increase the absorption of essential nutrients through the intestines. It also helps to eliminate abdominal gas and in turn reduces abdominal distension, bloating and gaseous cramps. It offers an amazing cure for a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders like esophagitis, dyspepsia, heartburn, diarrhoea, flatulence, peptic ulcer and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Sudh

SUDH FATKRI: In Ayurveda, Alum (Phitkari) is used in the form of Bhasma (Pure Ash) called as Sphatika Bhasma. The Sphatika Bhasma along with honey is used to manage whooping cough by reducing the accumulation of mucus in the lungs.
